School Uniform

Applecroft School has a school uniform and dress code. All children who attend the school from the Reception classes until Year 6 are required to conform to the dress code. The dress code and school uniform are optional for children attending the Nursery. As it is difficult to cover all eventualities in terms of the dress code please do not hesitate to ask if clarification of any item is needed.

The dress code is as follows:

  • Red or light grey sweatshirts, jumpers or cardigans
  • Grey or mid-grey trousers, skirts, shorts or pinafore dresses
  • White shirts, blouses or polo shirts
  • Brown or dark shoes
  • White, light grey, mid-grey or red socks
  • Grey, mid-grey or red tights
  • Black shorts for PE
  • An extra white polo shirt for PE (optional)
  • White t-shirt for PE
  • Training shoes or plimsolls for outdoor PE*
  • Red checked summer dresses
  • Red, white or grey hair bands
  • Red, white or grey hair clips
  • One ear stud per ear can be worn to school
  • Hair accessories must be school uniform colour

*The children do not wear shoes for indoor PE unless there is a medical reason.

Applecroft School has a school uniform and dress code due to health and safety concerns and for reasons of consistency. As a result school dress requirements are as clear and consistent as possible. Polo-shirts, t-shirts and sweatshirts with the school logo on can be purchased from the school uniform shop which is organised by the Applecroft School Parent Teacher Association.

Other items of clothing can be purchased from Welwyn Garden City town centre or other shopping centres.
