Services Available to Schools

Below is a list of the various services we offer to local schools, students & parents in the area:

School: Focused Consultation

A consultation service for schools focused on extending a school’s literacy and numeracy interventions and plans, particularly at Wave 3.

Pupil: Focused Consultation / Outreach

Advice is intended to support the development of the school’s own resources to meet the identified pupil’s needs. A range of advice and support activities are provided on behalf of named individual pupils. These activities are designed to support the school’s developing provision mapping approach, dyslexia friendly guidance, and ensure schools are utilising good practise at Waves 1,2 and3 in literacy and numeracy.

Training

Training sessions is provided by SpLD Base staff on a range of topics focused on the Hertfordshire developing dyslexia friendly schools guidance, and Wave 3 literacy and numeracy interventions.

Open Afternoons & Resources

A display of up-to-date resources for supporting dyslexic pupils can be viewed at the Base. We hold termly Open-Afternoons for displaying new materials and offering informal advice on their use. Commercial Publishers often display new books and other resources at these sessions.
