Gymnastics is a sport that includes exercises requiring balance, strength, flexibility, agility, coordination, and endurance. The movements involved in gymnastics contribute to the development of the arms, legs, shoulders, back, chest, and abdominal muscle groups.
Alertness, precision, daring, self-confidence, and self-discipline are mental traits that can also be developed through gymnastics.
Hertford gymnastics runs a Gymnastics club twice a week at Applecroft School. It’s open from years 1 to 6.
Gymnasts are split into age and ability groups. Gymnasts are assessed each term and can achieve the British gymnastics badges certificates and badges.
Gymnasts also get the opportunity to enter external competitions and are part of the school’s annual display.
