Year 6 Summer Term w/c 4.5.20

Week Commencing Monday 4th May 2020

Dear All

We are sending this out a day earlier following feedback, as we know some of you want to be able to prepare for the week ahead. Thank you all so much for sharing all the work you have been doing and for the way you and the children have been engaging in what we know are challenging circumstances. We are especially pleased to see how may children are also finding new skills to learn and following their curiosity and  interests; this is often the best kind of learning. We have added your photos to the Summer Term 1 slideshow and there are additions to Poet's Corner too.

Work for week commencing 4th May 2020:

  • My Maths Tasks (available via login)
  • Continue - Geography & History: An Enquiry Study of the River Nile (website - last week)
  • Y5/6 Spelling Crosswords (website)
  • History - Ancient Egyptians Hieroglyphocs and Cartouches (website)
  • French (website)
  • Dance and Music (website)
  • Continue - Discovery Geography (website - last week)
  • Mrs Wake's Year 6 Award Challenge (see separate email and website)

This week we would like you to send photos of your Ancient Egyptian Cartouche by Friday 8th May.

Please remember there is no expectation to complete all of the weekly block of work; we have tried to provide some choice and variety. Our daily recommendation remains the same as below.

If you haven’t tried these yet we would recommend looking at the English and Maths to consolidate key basic skills in the Year 6 curriculum. The Ancient Egyptian History may also be helpful for The River Nile study.

Please don’t hesitate to email us if you have something to share, questions, concerns or simply to keep us updated.  We truly appreciate the efforts you make to keep in touch and miss you all.

With best wishes

The Year 6 Team
