Lunch Club

The lunch club provides an hour of childcare, either, following attendance at the morning nursery or before afternoon nursery. Children taking up a full time place, funded by the 30 hour free childcare code, will automatically attend the lunch club.

Opening hours: 11.30am – 12.30pm

The club is run to enable children to enjoy their lunch in a social setting with their friends. They will have the opportunity to join in with activities such as drawing, puzzles, sharing a book, Lego and playing outside.

Activities are planned in consultation with the Nursery Teacher in order to complement activities planned for the Nursery class sessions.

Children may bring a packed lunch or take a school dinner (there is an additional charge for taking a school dinner). We follow the school’s Healthy Eating Programme and expect children to bring healthy packed lunches. We are also a “No Nuts” environment so do not allow nuts in any form.

We hope this childcare facility will open up opportunities for parents/carers as well as giving children the opportunity to socialise.

Lunch Club Bookings

Booking forms are issued monthly and need to be completed and returned so that the Nursery is aware of the sessions you would like your child to attend.

School dinners are provided by Dolce who offer a three weekly revolving menu offering a variety of hot meals. School diners must be ordered and paid for, in advance, through Dolce's online booking system SchoolGrid.

Lunch Club Session and School Dinner Charges

Lunch club sessions are charged at £5.00 per session. School dinners are currently charged at £2.37 per meal.

Lunch club sessions will be invoiced on a monthly basis on a partially in advance basis. Payments can be made by cash, cheque (payable to Applecroft School), or SchoolComms once an account has been set up for you.

School dinner costs are charged directly by Dolce when placing a meal order through Dolces booking system Schoolgrid.

Missed Sessions

If your child is absent due to illness and you notify us by 9.00 am, then the session will not be charged for.
