At Applecroft School we look to nurture and inspire the 'whole child' seeing all our pupils as individuals with great potential.

Within our curriculum we place equal importance on the children's personal development as well as their academic progress. We know that happy children learn and believe that the skills necessary to lead a succeed life both in and out of the workplace, revolve around personal effectiveness such as problem solving, team work and resilience. 

Our children only have one childhood. We never forget this and endeavour to play our part in providing a rich, broad and inspiring curriculum that will develop a life-long love of learning and support each child to realise their own passions and talents whether these be creative, sporting, musical, artistic, academic or technical.

Right from the Early Years, we look to nurture and develop our children's leadership skills through 'The Leader in Me'. We were one of the first schools in England to implement this as part of our school curriculum and it continues to underpin the personal development of all our pupils along with our PSHE curriculum. 

As well as developing our children as individuals, we believe it is vital to develop their awareness and understanding of the part they play in the wider community. Whether this is within their class or school community, their county or country community or their global community. This is achieved through the curriculum as well as other school wide initiatives such as pupil-led fundraising events.

Our vision, mission and values underpin all we do and are regularly discussed with the school community. Applecroft is a large school with a family feel. This is something we both nurture and protect. Together we work hard to support, care and realise the greatness in us all.
